At Hy-Capacity, we pride ourselves on playing an active roll in our community and taking continuous steps to improve the well being of our employees.
- WELLNESS In 2015, Hy-Capacity was selected as one of the healthiest employers in Iowa. We are committed to helping our employees change their outlook on healthy living in a way that translates beyond their work. Our Hy-Capacity Wellness team works to plan health initiatives that give our employees inspiration to move and to practice a healthy lifestyle.
- FAMILY FIT NIGHT We helped establish and sponsor this local family event intended to promote fitness for all ages through running, jogging and walking.
- BOOK CLUB Our company book club, Chapter Chat, meets monthly to discuss books that cultivate knowledge, understanding, creativity, and kindness. The books we read include the genres of fiction, nonfiction, and professional development. We read books to be better humans.
- LEADERSHIP TRAINING Here at Hy-Capacity, we know that we can’t improve our company without investing in the men and women that help Hy-Cap run, so we’ve developed Leadership Hy-Cap. Leadership Hy-Cap is a professional and personal development program designed to educate, inspire and develop future leaders as the foundation for Hy-Capacity’s future growth. These are the leaders who answer your phone calls, give you tech advice, and build, package, and ship your parts. Living by example is what they do best.
- KID’S CHRISTMAS PARTY This annual event is held for our employees and their families. The kids enjoy games, gifts, and giggles with Santa.
- RELAY FOR LIFE Money is raised through potlucks, selling shirts, and offering luminaria for the American Cancer Society.
- ADOPT A FAMILY Our team puts on several internal fundraisers throughout the year to raise money for local families in need each holiday season.
- CHAMBER OF COMMERCE We’re an active member of the Humboldt Chamber Commerce which supports many of the local businesses.
- YOUTH PROGRAMS We sponsor and help with several local youth programs and events including Farm Safety Day, Manufacturing Day, Athletic Boosters, Music Boosters, and Meals for the Heartland.
- IOWA FFA SEAT PROGRAM Hy-Capacity became a sponsor of the Iowa FFA Association in 2013. We partner with students working on tractor restorations and provide restoration grade seat to help them with their project. We love going to the Iowa State Fair each year to meet the students we’ve worked with and see their completed tractors.
- 4-H & FFA AUCTION Every summer, starting back in the early 80’s, Hy-Capacity has purchased hogs and cattle at the local Humboldt County Fair Livestock Auction. We have it processed locally and give the meat to our employees as a way of saying ‘thanks’. Over the years we have purchased more than 73 cows and 198 hogs. This is a way that we can support our community and the kids that have an interest in agriculture, as well as give back to our employees. Many of the 4-H and FFA members have been sons and daughters of our employees.
- BLOG Named in honor of Hy-Capacity’s first president, James “Scratch” Olson, Scratching the Surface tells the story of who we are and where we come from. On our blog, you can read stories about the people that have made Hy-Capacity successful and Iowa FFA Restorations, learn helpful tech tips featuring our products, and check out the new products we’re excited about.
